Mazda CX-7 emerged as the production version of the MX-Crosspost concept car. It was Mazda’s first mid-size SUV after Navajo. The vehicle utilized Ford’s global compact car platform, known as the Ford C1. It shared the front suspension of the Mazda MPV minivan and the rear suspension of the Mazda5. Due to the growing popularity of crossovers, Mazda announced the three-row crossover CX-8 in mid-2017. The debut model of this vehicle was released in Japan.

Overview

Mazda CX 7 is a good-looking vehicle with some nice features. It has a sporty look and drives quite well. The vehicle is a combination of sport and comfort. Engine and transmission

The sporty crossover is a touring model with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This sports vehicle adds an optional turbocharged direct-injected 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine for the ‘s’ models. The 2.5-liter produces 161 horsepower, and the 2.3-liter four-cylinder produces 244 hp. For the CX-i models, front-wheel drive and a five-speed automatic transmission are standard features. For the CX-s models, the vehicle has an EPA estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined. Front-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission are standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 18/24/20 with FWD and 17/21/19 with AWD.

Design, interior, and exterior

The CX-7 is available in different trim levels with an excellent exterior look and an upgraded interior. The base model has larger alloys, complete power accessories, and cruise control. The touring trim levels of the vehicle were provided with upgraded features such as leather upholstery, xenon headlights, an 8-way power diver seat, a heated side mirror, automatic headlights, and automatic climate control. The CX-7 has ample interior spacing and headroom. The maximum capacity of cargo is 59 cubic feet. Grand Touring models have features such as automatic climate control, a SmartKey entry system, heated mirrors, a moonroof, a navigation system, blind-spot monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, and xenon HID headlamps. Touch screen and Bose Centerpoint audio are optional and have a voice-activated navigation system. A Bluetooth interface is included on most of the models except base SV.
The vehicle offers a unique instrument panel and an attractive roof structure. Build quality and handling are found to be remarkable. The available navigation is affordable compared to various other sports vehicles. Storage and spacing are great, and the vehicle’s trunk has enough space to store belongings, even for an extended vacation.

Safety

The vehicle comes with a blind spot warning and a backup camera. Traction control, electronic stability system, airbags, and antilock brakes are standard safety features. Apart from that, the vehicle also offers safety options such as a tire pressure monitoring system, side-impact door beams, driver and front passenger dual-stage airbags, driver and front passenger side airbags, front/rear air curtains w/rollover protection, child safety rear door locks and fold-away brake pedal assembly.
