Spring cleaning takes a lot of time and energy but these few tips can make it less of a task. Spring cleaning can be a boring and effortful task for many. You may even forget some important tasks in the grand scheme. Here are some quick tips to help you spring clean in the best way possible, so let’s get started!
Make a spring cleaning checklist
Include all the parts of your house and make a bullet point list in every aspect of those places as well. Some places in your house you can include are the entryway, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, living room, garage or driveway, and any outdoor area.
Deep clean your dishwasher
Remove any remaining food from the bottom of the dishwasher and racks, then run a cycle with deep cleaning dishwashers or soap for stubborn stains. Doing this once a month can make your annual spring cleaning much easier.
Clean and prevent countertop stains
Most granite stains are stubborn, so seal off your countertop during installation. Sealing the countertop ensures no percolation or seepage of food or liquids into the granite. Food or water will not form droplets on your countertop if sealed properly.
Clean your windows on a cloudy day
Your windows can catch smudges and stains very easily.
Clean your refrigerator
Wash the inside and outside of the refrigerator with warm soapy water. The inside of your fridge can have many stains and rigid food accumulation. Warm water helps break down the stains to ensure a clean fridge.
Disinfect your washing machine
Disinfect the washing machine with white vinegar and baking soda by adding it to hot water and running a cycle. Then let the water sit inside for about an hour to completely disinfect it and remove any odors. Restart the machine and then let the water and drain and the machine dry completely.
Clean out your closet
Your closet may have clothes from years ago that you don’t wear anymore. Firstly, make sure to remove any clothes you have not worn in the past year. Then, arrange your closet according to colors or type of clothing to make it more appealing to look at.
