Know about the Amazing Features of the Ram Trucks
The Dodge Ram trucks were rechristened and re-marketed as Ram trucks from the year 2011. The Dodge Ram is a pick-up truck. The new Dodge Rams, or Ram trucks as they are now known, were initially manufactured as an entity within the Dodge line of trucks. The Dodge Ram trucks are considered to be the star among the various pick-up trucks, having been awarded the title of “Truck of the Year” five times. Currently, the Dodge Ram trucks are being manufactured in the US and Mexico.
The current Dodge Ram trucks belong to the fourth generation of the trucks. These were first introduced in the automobile market almost a decade ago.
Most models of the Dodge Ram come with an option of the four-door Crew Cab, and the 1500 models do not have an option of the Mega Cab. The option of a Mega Cab is still available on the 2500 and the 3500 variants. The seats in the rear can be reclined though there is no change in the amount of the leg room that is available in the rear. Even with the Mega Cab, the configuration is still the same as the length of the wheelbase is still the same.
Changes and upgrades are done on all Ram trucks and certainly many changes were carried out in the year 2016 and 2017. In the year 2016, a completely new and improved Ram Rebel 1500 was introduced with various technical as well as aesthetic design changes to some trim levels. The changes which were made to 1550 Ram Rebel in the year 2016 included the changes in the tires and suspension system as well as interior changes in the Lone Star and Big Horn levels. This truck is available with options of four wheels as well as a two-wheel drive. Two cab options that are Quad and Crew are also available. Not only this, the 2016 Ram Rebel also comes with two engine options; 5.7 V8 HEMI engine and a Pentastar VVT V6 engine. The Ram trucks (only the SLT variants) come with state-of-the-art technology in the interiors as well. The touch-screen on the dashboard is standard and Bluetooth connectivity and wireless streaming of audio content are available in all Ram models now. The dashboard is also available with an auxiliary input jack, voice control, Satellite radio, and a USB port. All these features which are now standard in Ram trucks were earlier introduced as paid features.
The company introduced some great new features in the 2017 Ram trucks as well. The new trucks of this year have the Ram emblem fixed on the tailgate while in some selected trim levels the front grille has been revamped. We also saw the Ram trucks facing a setback when their Ecodiesel V6 turbo engine was discontinued due to allegations of harming the environment. After obtaining new clearances, the company is planning to introduce the same engine sometime again next year. As far as the infotainment systems go in the heavy-duty Ram models, all of them will still be equipped with ACCESS 8.4 infotainment system, while the 1500 SLT model will only have the option of the 5.0BT radio option. The limited edition Ram truck with blacks accents will also be manufactured by the company. On all the different series trucks of the Ram, only on the Laramie trim, an Alpine 7.1 channel surround sound system along with nine speakers will be the standard. In the Ram 1500 series, three trims level albeit only in limited edition will be available; Lone Star Yellow Rose, Lone Star Silver, and the Lone Star Night edition will be available. In 2018, the Ram is planning to come with two new special editions, the Harvest and the Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition. The new editions will come with a wireless hotspot system and an 8.4 U-connect infotainment system, integration systems for Android and iOS and in-vehicle modem. The lower trim levels of the 1500 Ram Rebel will have the cross-hair front grille.
