Key Highlights of the Nissan NV Cargo Van

Looking for a commercial cargo van? The Nissan NV Cargo is among the toughest you’ll come across. Like Nissan’s Titan truck generation, the NV’s specifications are competitive enough to handle any load or tow with ease. If this is something you’re looking for, continue reading to learn about this van’s key highlights and features. To begin, here’s a quick look at the Nissan brand and what makes it worth investing in.

About Nissan
Nissan is a leading full-line automaker with over 60 models under the Nissan, INFINITI, and Datsun brands. The business sold 5.52 million automobiles internationally in the 2018 fiscal year, raking 11.6 trillion yen in revenue.

Key Highlights of the Nissan NV Cargo Van
Since 1999, Nissan has collaborated with French automaker Renault, and in 2016, it purchased a 34% share in Mitsubishi Motors. In the 2018 calendar year, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance collectively sold 10.76 million vehicles.

Engine and performance
Two different engines are available for the Nissan NV Cargo van. The 4.0-liter V-6 with 261 horsepower, found in variations with lower price tags, is more than adequate for easier jobs. Above it is the 5.6-liter V-8 with 375 horsepower. This engine, also utilized in the company’s Titan and Titan XD pickup trucks, considerably increases the NV’s acceleration, towing, and payload capacities. A smooth-shifting seven-speed automatic transmission is standard on higher versions.

Payload
The Nissan NV Cargo can tow up to 6,900 pounds with the V-6 engine, which increases to 9,400 pounds with the V-8. This is pretty impressive for its class, but some competitors can tow more. The payload capacity ranges from 2,730 pounds for the standard-roof 1500 S powered by a V-6 to 3,500 pounds for the standard-roof 3500 S powered by a V-8.

Interiors
Two passengers can ride in the full-size, rear-wheel-drive Nissan NV Cargo van. It has 234 cubic feet of cargo space with the standard-roof model. With a height of 76.9 inches, the high-roof model provides 323 cubes. Inside, the average individual can stand up without bending. The NV’s front row is approximately as comfortable and convenient as Nissan’s Titan pickups. Customers can add heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and seats with leather upholstery.

Technology
The Nissan NV Cargo’s in-cabin technology is modest for this class. You get a standard music system with Bluetooth and a 7.0-inch display. SV and SL models have a 5.8-inch touchscreen, SiriusXM satellite radio (subscription required; available separately), in-dash navigation, mobile apps, and one USB port and an auxiliary jack in the dashboard. Integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is not available.

Safety
The NV doesn’t provide any active safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring or forward-collision braking, even though most of Nissan’s cars and SUVs do. Along with curtain side-impact airbags fitted on the front and top, an electronic stability-control system is standard. Other vans in its class provide many more safety features, which puts this van behind the competition in this area.

Models
You can choose between four models: NV1500 V6, NV2500 HD V6, NV2500 HD V8, and NV3500 HD V8. Each has progressively greater carrying and towing capacities. The NV1500 V6 and NV2500 HD V6 are offered in S and SV trim levels, whereas the NV3500 HD V8 is offered in SV and SL trim levels. The NV2500 HD V8 doesn’t have an S, SV, or SL trim.

Although there haven’t been many modifications to this vehicle, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s outdated. The Nissan NV Cargo checks all the boxes for buyers looking for a robust, no-nonsense van. Visit the manufacturer’s website to learn more about the benefits of this van and its availability. And don’t forget to do further research to ensure you choose the right trim!
