Impressive Features of the Toyota Land Cruiser
A base model and a Heritage Edition are the two trims available for the Toyota Land Cruiser. The base model has similar standard equipment as the Heritage Edition, including the same engine and four-wheel drive system. But in contrast to the Heritage Edition’s two rows and five seats, the base model has three rows and eight seats, and its starting price is around $2,300 less. But these aren’t the only spectacular features of this car.
About Toyota
Japanese Toyota Jidosha K.K. is the parent corporation of the Toyota Group. Many of its 1,000 subsidiary firms and affiliates are engaged in the production of automobiles, automobile parts, and commercial and industrial vehicles.
Features of the Toyota Land Cruiser
Engine
A 5.7-liter V8 engine with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque powers the Toyota Land Cruiser. Four-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission are standard. The Land Cruiser can be hustled around town and up to highway speeds easily by its powerful V8. The throttle feels responsive, the acceleration is quick, and there is plenty of passing power available when needed. For the most part, the transmission changes smoothly and quickly, but it has a tendency to default to higher speeds too frequently in order to conserve gasoline.
Interiors
The interior is filled with high-quality materials, but it is not as aesthetically lavish as its competitors. Excellent build quality is evident in the way switches and knobs move. The front row offers relaxing surroundings and spectacular views. The second row has plenty of space, however, the third row might feel a bit cramped but is perfect for children.
The Toyota Land Cruiser has 16 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the third row and 41 cubic feet behind the second with the usual eight-person seating configuration.
Technology
The entertainment system in the Land Cruiser is a bit of a mixed bag. The 9-inch touch screen’s huge on-screen buttons and complementing physical knobs and buttons make it easy to manage the radio and climate controls while driving. The system’s lack of compatibility with well-liked technologies such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is a drawback.
A 9-inch touch screen, a navigation system, Bluetooth, a USB connector, HD Radio, satellite radio, 14 speakers, and a smartphone charging pad are included as standard infotainment amenities.
Informational features available are a DVD player, two headphones, and two 11.6-inch monitors for the rear-seat entertainment system. Four-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, a power liftgate, a sunroof, and a 120-volt outlet are further standard equipment.
Safety features
System of surround-view cameras along with sensors for rear and front parking. There is a blind area detection, backcrossing traffic alert, collision warning in front, and emergency braking on demand. Moreover there is also this feature of detecting pedestrians to avoid any mishaps. The vehicle has an autonomous cruise control and a warning for lane deviation, as well. There are automatically adjustable high beams and a back-up camera too.
Price
With a 381-horsepower V8 engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive, the Toyota Land Cruiser costs $85,655. The base price of the Land Cruiser Heritage Edition is $87,995. It doesn’t have the third-row bench seat but adds vintage “TOYOTA Land Cruiser” insignia, a Yakima MegaWarrior roof rack, black exterior details, bronze BBS wheels, and bronze inside stitching. A third row is an option for this special edition trim, according to Toyota.
The Toyota Land Cruiser costs around $85,000, consumes gasoline voraciously, and lacks modern conveniences, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the Land Cruiser is among the best if you want a sizable, luxurious SUV.
