Getting a closer look at the Cadillac SRX
The Cadillac SRX – an entry-level luxury crossover SUV in the marker – is the best-selling car in the Cadillac lineups because of its performance and luxurious interiors. Equipped with a standard V-6 engine, the Cadillac SRX handles well in both the city and the highway at varying speeds, offers a comfortable ride, and is loaded with technology such as 4G Wi-Fi features as well as a built-in safety alert seat that indicates through vibration that a threat is about to hit the car from the left or right side. The car is fortified with safety sensors to alert in case of any impending threat.
The Cadillac SRX is available in four trims. The base trim is built on 18-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, leatherette (premium vinyl) upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat, a 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seat, cruise control, and a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The infotainment system – CUE- has an 8-inch display with in-car Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and an eight-speaker Bose sound system with a CD player, satellite and HD radio, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack. The luxury trim has the add-on features such as keyless ignition and entry, a blind-spot warning system, front and rear parking sensors, power folding mirrors (driver-side auto-dimming), a rear cross-traffic alert system, a rearview camera, automatic wipers, a panoramic sunroof and a power liftgate with adjustable opening height.
The infotainment system in this trim has a voice-activated navigation system and a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system with additional costs. In the performance trim, all the afore mention are standard to the car and has 20-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, adaptive dampers (all-wheel drive only), variable-effort power steering, adaptive xenon headlights and fog lights.
In terms of performance, the V-6 3.6-liter engine generates around 308hp and 265 lb-ft torque. However, the Cadillac has only a standard six-speed automatic transmission with a standard 4-wheel drive and has the option of all-wheel drive for higher end models except for the base trim. The acceleration reviews for the car denoted an acceleration of 0-60 mph at around 7 seconds.
