-Chest pain.
-Light skin, pale lips, and nails.
-Cold hands and feet.

What measures can be taken to prevent and to treat it?

There are many risks associated with anemia, which is not only harmful to the mother but can be harmful to the baby as well. Anemia can be cured if it is detected and treated at the proper time. So it is very important for pregnant women to consult a doctor to prevent the disease. Some preventive measures which can be taken are as follows:

  • Do not take heavy medication to cure anemia without a doctor’s prescription, as it can lead to side effects in your body. If you notice anemic symptoms, then consult a doctor and take the prescribed dose.
  • Ensure you go for a routine check-up and blood test to know if you are dealing with anemia. If it is observed in the early stages, then it can be easily treated.
  • Take a healthy diet which includes iron. As iron can be hard to digest for some women, you can take vitamin C for easy digestion.
  • Reduce the consumption of unhealthy beverages such as tea and coffee.
  • If you experience bleeding during pregnancy , then surgical intervention might be necessary.
